About Franko’s Blog

Who am I?

Hello. I’m Frank, owner of Franko’s blog. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at some of the stuff that I create and share here.

Why am I doing this?

I have very random, and often eclectic, thoughts and ideas on a daily basis. I also love many things in life – music, photography, and film being the top three things I enjoy most. This site is a brain dump/aide-mémoire for me, and for anyone else who finds any value or use in anything I share. I may often share other content that I enjoy. Wherever possible, I will link back to/attribute the owner of that content. I’m not a content curator as such, but when I stumble across something that’s just too good or too useful, it’d be silly not to share it.

I’m also a great believer in the “pay it forward” way of things. If someone has been kind enough to share something with me, or if I have discovered some little nugget of information that has made any aspect of my life that little bit easier, I will try to repay that kindness with some more of the same. Our lives/society/planet needs more of this!

Why a blog?

In the age of social media with all of the chaos and noise that it brings to daily life, I find it very refreshing being able to write what I want, share what I want, and, dare I say it, promote my own interests, whilst retaining the copyright of my content. Also, and not that I’ve ever been affected by it, I’m also relatively free of the censorship policing that goes on within some of these social media platforms when I share my content here.

Don’t get me wrong, I do have Facebook, Instagram & Twitter accounts, and I use them as and when I need them. However, I don’t feel that they are appropriate channels for what I am doing here.

I feel that I should stress that this is a personal site. What I post here is for my own gratification. If I can help others whist doing that then it’s a win-win for all. Also, I’m not affiliated with any brands, nor do I have any sponsors, and I’m not engaged in any commercial activities. If that ever changes I’ll let you know.
